OK. I just submitted a request for an update to the Audiobus SDK 2.1 and an assurance that it's not abandonware to the Moog forums. We'll see what they say. I'd encourage other folks to do the same - or at least follow up on the thread I started there. :-)

The answer to the first question is a qualified no. Moog wants you to buy them again. But you can copy them out of one version and put them back in the other using iFunbox and a computer.
Here's the thread I started:

Thanks, I will try that!
Yeah, my understanding is that presets work on both versions. So many apps almost require you to use iFunBox to do things that should be native functions that it doesn't even phase me. The risk, though, is that iFunBox seems spotty - it will work absolutely fine, and then depending on which OS you have or which version of iFunBox, it may stop you from extracting or replacing files all of the sudden.
Animoog on my iPad2 sounds great, but for an older app (presumably release around the time the iPad2 was still one of the lead devices), it isn't necessarily that easy to run. I unlocked the 4-track recorder by registering the app, and even with no AudioBus or anything else running in the background, it basically stuttered and locked up to the point where it wouldn't keep playing once I recorded one track and tried to add a second one. I really just need a faster iPad - I'm getting tired of constantly fighting these apps, and I have so many quality ones to the point now here it's a damn shame I have to use them with kid gloves.
Wow, surprised to hear you had trouble with Animoog on iPad 2. It would occasionally stutter for me but it helped to run it with Audiobus and set buffer to 512. Really, I have had no problems since Moog released version 2.0. That was a huge update. Maybe try a reinstall?
I still run Animoog on an iPad 1.
Sounds like it's the 4 track recorder causing problems, not just the synth itself.
To be fair, even if Moog wanted to give customers access to IAPs on both devices they can't. They're separate apps and Apple doesn't allow that.

Wow, that's impressive. I remember my ipad 2 choking when running animoog with one or two other apps in parallel.

Yep, that's more my experience. If the app is by itself, no problems (except the busted 4-track). But run it with anything and there starts to be issues. 512 frames on AB is a great backup plan to at least get it to function, but that's getting into perceivable latency territory and it starts to take away from the accuracy and realism of the experience.
Not really an Animoog problem, more a problem specific to my device. Though I do think iOS musicians in general are too tolerant of poor CPU performance across all these apps. This stuff should be able to run the more basic functions without having to baby everything. Having 6 apps open with multiple AudioBus chains, now there I would understand having issues.

Looks like you've had some good response already (from users, not Moog).
Here's a site someone set up with a wishlist, if anyone's interested

Is definitely like to see Moog give some attention to the iPhone version. It's so behind the iPad version. It's a shame too, because I love using my iPhone to work on synth patches when I'm out and have a free moment.
It's too bad so many music app developers have abandoned the iPhone and iPod touch. Sunrizer XS is another app I wish hadn't been forgotten.
I'm worried Intua will abandon the iPhone with BeatMaker 3![:( :(](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
