Latency time when using Beatmaker 2, Sunrizer and drumjam

edited August 2014 in General App Discussion

When using virtual midi, sunrizer records great into Beatmaker but when i try to record Drumjam it sounds fine while recording but once recorded the timing is off. Any tips on how to get the timing right. It seem like i need to know exactly how long the latency is.

  • So what is your setup here? Sending sequenced MIDI from BM into DrumJam while recording into an audio track in BM listening to the output from DrumJam via Audiobus? Does it seem like everything is a fixed amount late in the resulting recorded audio region?

Are you trying to send midi info from DJ to BM2? I've had similar timing issues in the past trying to send midi info from DJ to Cubasis. Timing works for me at 512 frames using BM2 to send programmed midi info to DJ (BM2:Midi Out, DJ:Midi In), just tested on iPad 2.

Oops sorry, didn't see the post. Thanks @sonosaurus!

  • I am sequencing midi from beatmaker to Sunrizer and recording that, and it is great. Then sending the clock to start Drumjam from Beatmakers play button and then hitting record. Upon playback in Beatmaker is where the timing goes off. I tried moving the marker to line it up but it seems i just cant get it in line with recorded audio from Sunrizer.

  • So you are playing back DrumJam loops then? That is a whole different story. I recommend letting DrumJam run for a little bit at the desired tempo, don't just start recording from zero. It sometimes takes a bar to sync up if the tempo had changed. Or, just render the loop in DrumJam at the desired tempo and export it into BM if that is really all you wanted anyway.
