Among the Stars (Bome Network, Solo, Pianoteq, Repro-5)

This is a music track that I improvised on two MIDI keyboards connected to an iPad.

I used Bome Network software to send the iPad's MIDI notes to Bitwig Studio running on a desktop PC. There the MIDI was routed to Solo for the cello, Pianoteq for the piano, and Repro-5 for the background instrument.

After bringing the audio recording into Vegas Pro, I applied the Lurssen Mastering Console plug-in to the audio mix.

It's titled Among the Stars.

Edit: Swapped out a newer mix that does a better job of bringing out the instruments

    No, it's not boring. It's good to be reminded that the work is worth the effort.

    I did swap out the track with a new mix. I felt that the softer parts were too soft compared with the louder parts. I don't like to compress music, but Fabfilter Pro-C2 has a preset ("Gentle wide mastering NH") that works well in this situation. It tightens things up, without being intrusive.

    I listened to the original track only once so it is difficult to recall how it sounded exactly, but this version sounds good to my ears (as did the original). Fabfilter's apps can indeed do very subtle job !

    Also, whoever said Pianoteq doesn’t sit well in a mix is WAY. WRONG.

    +1 can't wait for Pianoteq to be released on iOS. Really looking forward to it since the announcement !
