Garageband ipad white noise
Hello all, sorry if this has been asked a million times. Pretty new to recording and am using garageband on my ipad due to lack of funds for much else (such as proper mac etc) anyway, I use a Behringer C-1 condenser mic to record vocal and acoustic guitar BUT the background fuzz/whitenoise can be a real distraction. Can't find any eq on garageband or mastering? Can anyone offer me any advice please? Very much appreciated all. James

Which audio interface are you using with your condenser mic?
Oh blimey, afraid I have no idea what that would be? I just use what ever the ipad/garageband uses wish I could answer better
What he means is.. What equipment are you plugging the mic cable into? The mic requires phantom power, so I doubt it's going straight into the iPad. Then you need another connection from that equipment into the iPad. That will either be plugged into the iPad headphone socket (yes, I know, WTF Apple?) or into the dock connector. If you're using the headphone socket input, don't. Big crosstalk and feedback problems.
Basically, you either need a specialised dock with a mic input and phantom power, or a mixer with the same that has a USB output that you plug into a Camera Connection Kit (long story, Apple again) which plugs into the dock connector on the iPad.
Or to put it another way: how is your C-1 mic plugged into your iPad?
if you use the headphone jack: recordings will be mediocre or OK.
if you use the dock connector: its pure digital recording, so recordings will be as good as your gear allows.
