So unlike 4Pockets to have us hanging so long after an announcement of a new app, must be a host of new features being added.

  • that onboard gater seems interesting

  • Wow very quiet on here! Some apps release seems to generate so much hype and excitement...
I'm guessing the AB forum community has got synth overload. I know I have really... ...but I'll probs still buy it :)

I think it has to do with it being a two oscillator subtractive synth. The average ABF member will have at least a dozen of those so it’s hard to get excited. The filter does look interesting at least.

I'd consider getting a standalone gate app with the same function it has in this synth app. Pattern gating can be useful for all kinds of sounds.

Bram Bos's Perforator works pretty well for these types of gate-effects...
    https://ruismaker.com/perforator/

  • Also BLEASS MotionFX is a good option for that type of effect...

  • Or Flux Pro from Caelum Audio...

  • Just trying to decide how this would fit into my workflow. I have Obsidian in NS2, and 3xOSC in FLSM, and if I want a more analogue sound, I have Zeeon, and if a more digital sound, got Alpha and Monolit.

  • I just test some patches…and sound warm, natural, I like it
    Is the first 4Pockets Synth..
    Deserve ..

the rough outline looks a lot like the synths he has in Meteor and had in (the I think now deprecated) Synergy, and (the definitely deprecated) Auroras, versions of which go back to Windows CE.

2 x Osc, cross mod, draw your own wave forms etc. I think the same filter. I think the code for a lot of his stuff has origins that go back a long ways. Dude has been in the mobile music app biz well before the iOS era

  • I think it’s great. I already like it better than some of the “golden children”. Good job by Paul. 😎👍🏼

  • I certainly don’t need another synth, but have recently been spending a lot of time with other 4Pocket apps. The consistency of interface and thorough YouTube videos from Paul make learning each new app’s features delightfully easy.

So of course I had to get Copperhead, and expect it to see a lot of use. 👍

I think it’s cause his apps seem to focus on function rather than sound. That’s why I love Helium and MIDI Layers so much.
As a non-guitar player, Strummer FX gets an honorable mention for when I feel a track could use some guitar comping. I like to control KQ Sampei loaded with a clean strat sf2 that I found, followed by GS Vintage Clean and or stuff.

Paul makes great utility apps. They go deeper than how they appear on the surface. Great documentation too.
But I don’t have experience with his past synth or digistix

Paul is agreat developer also a very humble person who take the time to answer back to the users of his apps which that is a BIG + to me not many developers will do that, plus he also do update his apps regularly, also he is the only developer that i know who will guide you on how to use his apps with his youtube videos tutorials which its another BIG thing that i really appreciate, and that i wish other developer would do too, even though there is too many synth in the app store that mostly do the same thing other synth do, but if there is any developers that we need to support for everything that they do, Paul from 4Pockets definitely is one of them, so we all need to buy this app to show support and appreciation for his hard work and his dedication to the people that uses his apps, so basically he is doing everything that we would want from a developer so that deserve a support !

Ah! 3:10 and it (kind of sort of vaguely) does 😁

I'll think about it when I make a video for Caelum's new Chorus app. I recently played his hook (haha) from PSB's Minimal.

What would you say its selling points are over something like Alpha, DRC, Poison, or Zeeon? Do you have a sense of the cpu use once all the cores are being used? I never get a sense of immediacy with 4p UIs, but I love Paul as a developer and want to support him. In this case, I have so many subtractive synths with virtual analog ambitions that I'm really focused on finding something that sounds good, has cpu efficiency, ui efficiency, and/or unique synthesis options. Cheers!

I see you have left a review for this synth but only 4 stars, would you mind telling me why you didn't give it 5 stars?

    Thanks

No specific reason. New product I haven’t gotten deeply into yet. I only give reviews because it helps the dev. Otherwise I think they’re pointless.

I have, but I was curious since you seem to have an opinion since you expressed that it's way *deeper than a 2 oscillator subtractive synth because _____________? *> @anickt said:

If it's a 4 star product it helps them but if it's a 5 star one it probably won't until enough 5 stars balance that out. So it was arbitrary?
