Fun In The Georgia Sun

The beloved Hoagy Carmichael. So much winning! Ironically, it’s now hard to get a decent peach in Georgia. Sad!

  • SMOOTH AND LOVELY!!! great chord progression, beautiful melody, I dont see what more I could ask.

J! I love your piano !!! You can put a piece together in the time I make a coffee trying to get my ideas together.

  • Glad you liked it @jo92346. Thanks and have a good weekend.

  • Almost Christmas time and you have me longing for a lazy summer day. I really enjoyed this.

  • I like this one. For many reasons. First, the girl in your graphic is really hot. Most importantly, Hoagy was a part of my life. As you probably already know, 'Stardust' was part of my first piano recital. That is, the first time I played piano in front of 20 or 30 strangers. Mom said 'Belt it out!', and I did. For some reason, I wasn't nervous at all. At the time I was no stranger to Hoagy. Mom used to play 'Old Buttermilk Sky' on our Telefunken Hi-FI. State of the art in the 60s. It was her mother's favorite song and Mom would play it on Saturday morning after the 'Irish American Hour' radio program. I have the original 78 RPM but no way to play it. Fortunately, I have the interweb. This was really nice. I cried a bit, but I'm a wimp. Thanks, Mike!

  • Where can the name Hoagy come from? How do those girls always get their skirts caught like that? Your music has the answer.

  • @Stochastically, it’s not from the sandwich?! As to girls and their skirts… if you wore a skirt…. Well, you know the rest, bro.

@Paulieworld, Hoagy is a National treasure and a pretty good actor, too. Do you know Baltimore Oriole? One of my favorites and nobody knows it.

Nice song. I was not familiar with this one, either. Thanks for posting!
