That's a great cover of one the greatest song on THE GREATEST ROCK ALBUM OF ALL TIMES by THE GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIMES. Hardly recognizable and surprisingly good after passing the First few seconds of acclimatization. On the second half, I first was wondering if you invited Stephen Merritt to sing... I usually don't like vocoder voice, but you kind of "summoned" Laurie Anderson with this one. Something Lou Reed might have appreciated. Very nice work 👍

    Hey, thank you very much!
I honestly did not think of the Laurie Anderson connection. Like you, I generally don’t care for vocoder voice, but was trying to go for that “androgyne choir” effect that Brian Eno often used. I thought it would contrast well with my unadorned crooning in the second half. Stephen Merritt? I’m flattered!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for listening and your kind words.

  • I liked the unadorned crooning. Lou Reed’s own singing style could be summed up with that phrase. I always wished that Lou had been allowed to sing those songs on the first Velvets album, as I never really cared for Nico’s vocals, but this is the next best thing 😉

    richard, thank you so much.

Lou could indeed be a hell of a crooner. Some of his best efforts are all over the unfairly maligned Sally Can’t Dance album.

Thanks again for the listen and kind words.

  • wow. wonderful singing, Jeff. If I had that voice I could have ruined my life trying to be a singer songwriter. Loved the beginning too. Would have loved to hear it continue on with drums. Great work, my friend.

Man, I’m glad that you are you!
Believe me, I have ruined my life far more with my speaking voice than my singing voice 😸
Thank you for listening and the kind words.
    Be well.
