"Lounging in Another World" Lofi EP

https://jwmmakerofmusic.bandcamp.com/album/lounging-in-another-world

This EP takes place on an alien planet called Xarvox where an astronaut lands and lives their best life before heading back to Earth.

The Lofi tracks of this EP were mostly produced in FLSM 4 on my iPhone. In case you're wondering, I got the "tape warble" effect on many of the sounds by utilising DirectWave's LFO function. Most of the drum samples used were from Imageline's "The Lofi Box", although "Departure" is entirely comprised of samples taken from MTV Music Generator and is set to 5|4 time signature. The track "Cocktail" was directly inspired by this piece of art by Nikolai Lockertsen...

The soundscape was produced in AUM on my iPad using two instances of Fluss - one using a sample of a waterphone, the other using a sample of dogs barking. A really fun app. These were fed into RX950 and Rymdigare (the best plugin for creating otherworldly soundscapes imho). Yeah, omg, I actually produced Ambient after a few months of not doing so. 🤣

All of these were dumped into AUM on my iPad. I applied RX950, MagicDeathEyeStereo, lo-fi-af, a lowpass filter at about 10kHz, and NoLimits to bring the levels up to -14LuFS.

Enjoy this outing to outer space!

Cheers mate. :) I didn't consider signing to a label just yet, mostly because I didn't realise any existed for Lofi. 😂

Thank you so much mate. :) It was easy once I put my mind to it.

Right now, I'm thinking about creating a Holiday Lofi EP. Not sure how many tracks it'll be, but I'm thinking three tracks - one for Hanukkah, one for Kwanzaa, and of course one for Christmas. ❤️

  • This is sounding amazing. Congratulations on this and other recent albums!

Thank you so much my friend. Not to worry, I plan to release Mysterious Girl soon. I'm just delaying the release to January.

  • Ha! I heard back from Nikolai Lockertsen (aka the man whose art inspired this EP) and he enjoyed it while painting. Ah, such a great compliment. 🤩
