A Riffer Suggestion

Anyone else think it would be useful to be able to set 2 roots on Riffer, rather than just one. The majority of classic riffs are two bars long and modulate to a second root note in the second bar.

Might be cool?

A major update is pending... promises niceness.

That looks like ARP territory... would be nice... Look out for 4Pockets Copperhead.. dropping Sunday..

  • You can change key and scale between presets already.
Not sure how else you could implement the feature.

Quite simple to implement: you just add another box at the “Number of Root Notes Section”, and a box for how many bars each root note lasts.

True.. let’s see what the new update brings..

  • My main hope is that the update is easier to see on iPhone 😄

+1 to that but I wouldn't count on it. I already mentioned to the developer about Panflow's UI on the iPhone back when it came out and that it is unusable on the device due to the color and contrast choice suggesting an additional high contrast mode but as can be seen - nothing like that happened.

As for your Riffer request - have you tried playing around with blocking steps in the pattern? Make a 2 bar long pattern on channel 1 tab with a root note of your choice, randomize pattern, block the steps in the second bar from being affected by the randomizer and delete the notes in that blocked bar leaving it empty. Now do the same on the 2nd channel but block the first bar. You should have now 2 bars sequence with each bar playing in a root of your choice. Having them on 2 separate channels now gives you more control over them.
