Intervention Of Angels (LinearLineman & Paulieworld)

Way past my bedtime. Hope you like it, Mike.

I'll be out for most of the weekend, so I just decided to post.

Comments

  • Sorry I didn’t listen to this till now, Paul. It disappeared off the first page and flew out of my mind. The sax sound sounds like my friend Charlie Krachy who played over this, too.

I listened a couple of times. I really like the bass and drums. Especially from 2:03. That’s the most successful part, for me.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Maybe we’ll get some comments now. Here’s Charley…

  • @LinearLineman Just got back from Brazilian Steakhouse and 2 bottles of wine. Charley is a player! I could listen to this all night. It reminds me a little bit of a jam I did with my jazz mentor, Al Freels, and his daughter Sally. We jammed in the basement one Christmas Eve while the blender cranked out Daquiris. I wish we had recorded it. Oh well. it's in my head forever. I have known Sally since the day she was born. We sat at the kid's card table for years. I want you to meet her. This is her current band, Chaometry. They kick ass!

Regarding comments, it looks like it's just you and me bro. No problem. It was my pleasure. I enjoyed every minute of it.

    You would have liked Al.

  • Yes @Paulieworld, Charlie is a wonderful player with a distinctive sound. He studied with the same teacher as me, z Connie Crothers.
I did an album using his solo lines. Very little of my actual playing, but I enjoyed manipulating his lines.
    Here’s the link.

Yes. Sadly, Sally is the only one left.
We are keeping the family tradition going as long as we can.
Angels are real. I think I met one once.
    Thanks for listening, Rene!
@LinearLineman Hey Mike, we got a comment!

  • @Paulieworld, I think an angel saved me from being crushed between two trucks. Literally disappeared before I could thank him.

Imagine a bitter cold, snowy winter night, well after midnight, in the middle of nowhere in Michigan. His car went off the road and crashed in a ditch. There was this guy that was walking along the road and happened to see him. He called for help. This was before cell phones. I have my own personal story, too.

  • We all know that ABF comments are a fickle mistress.. only just got round to this and it’s a lovely piece… well worth the bump… out of interest @Paulieworld how did you do the sax part… it was great 👍

The sax part was from one of the SessionBand packs. I created several short snippets, then rearranged them until I found something that I thought went well with Mike's improvisation. Some people would probably call that cheating. I don't play sax, but I still like one in my music from time to time. The license allows me to do whatever I like without having to pay anyone! Each pack contains thousands of short clips in assorted keys, played by top session players. It takes a bit of patience and trial and error, but I enjoy it.

I'll be away from the forum for a while with other commitments. Until then, thanks for listening and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

  • Years ago you would have been burned for witchcraft 🔥
Hope you have a peaceful holiday 🙏

  • Revisiting some old stuff. I thought this turned out nice. Bumping it just because…

  • Thanks, I missed it the first time around. Very nice.

  • This lovely, Mike and….Paul? 🤷‍♂️
