Winters Tree - GarageBand and emvoice multi vocal
This isn’t a happy Christmas song.
It tells the story of a husband and wife who’ve lost their son to war and their grief.
All instruments for this created In GarageBand IOS, and the vocals - using the recently purchased emvoice Jay (male) for the verses with Lucy adding some harmony to Jays vocals in the chorus, used within Cakewalk then back to GB for final mix.
Ended the song with a “poppy” but melancholic synth melody using the chorus chord structure.
Lyric video created using MovieSpirit on IOS.
Apologies for the sad nature of the song at this time of year.
Hope you enjoy the track.

You prove again you really know how to use envoice even if I’m not really fond of the Jay voice.
Thanks again for the kind comments.
Yes “Jay’s” voice can be a bit divisive. It took awhile to get it into the shape I was aiming for and even then I felt the need to harmonise with Lucy (and there’s a bit of Keela demo in there as well!) on the chorus. I suspect a more full and upbeat tune will work better for jays voice.
I’m pleased with what I’ve learnt this year and produced and looking forward to what comes musically in 2023.
HI @matdun25848834 ,
I love the guitar track, very serene.
Jay is well done, and I am pleased to hear him!!!
Great work!!!
Rene
thanks @ReneAsologuitar . The guitar track was probably the easiest part of the track , as Garageband has some nice basic accoustic guitars with some pre-built "picking/strumming". I was tempted to go and use a scaler2 or riffler riff, but kept it simple as I wanted the voices/strings to come through.
from my POV it would be interesting to get a real vocalist(s) to sing the track.
Liked the track, the ending from about 4:00 and Lucy… not keen if this Jay chap though 😊
thanks, pleased with the majority of the track, especially the instrumental interludes and end melody.
It seems Jay is a bit marmite , with more veering to not liking his tone. In the New Year, I'm going to write some new tunes with a variety of tempo/keys, and see if I can improve the appeal - otherwise he's going to be relegated to a backing singer for Lucy
