Can new Arturia Minilab MK3 be powered by a regular iPad like the MK2 could?

I have an 8th generation iPad and was wondering if it could power the MK3.

Comments

  • I’ve read yes because it’s usbC. Can’t wait to buy the mk3 myself!

  • Yes it can, it works on my regular iPad 7th generation

  • I'm interested in this controller so I was checking the Arturia configuration software to see how customizable it is. I couldn't find a way to set the encoders to relative mode, can anyone that has it confirm this? It would seem like a huge oversight, considering their other controllers with encoders do have relative mode.

MK2 does I believe. Check their MIDI Control center manual.

Yep, the MK2 does have relative mode as one of the options for the knobs. I was interested in the MK3 though because of the faders.

Yep I've read the manual but there's no indication of the knob modes. The fact that the mode is missing in the MIDI Control Center seems like a pretty clear indication. @tsferro since you own one, could you confirm either way? Thanks!

  • I contacted Arturia and they replied: the next firmware version will implement relative mode for knobs.
