    • AEM has plugin delay compensation for it’s audio tracks, Cubasis doesn’t
    • if I want more MIDI flexibility I set-up my MIDI plugins in AUM and send the MIDI to an AEM track (there’s another solution I sometimes use for scaler -> load Xequence pads or keys AU in Audiobus, send those into Scaler and bind the chords to the keys or pads in the Xequence AU, send the scaler chords to and AEM track and then: go to AEM, pop-up Audiobus in slide-over with the Xequence AU on screen, can be a bit cramped but you can now play/record your chords with the Xequence AU and AEM on screen)
    • Cubasis has Ableton Link, AEM doesn’t (but you can easily send AEM MIDI clock to Audiobus with Link enabled there which works fine..)

  • @janpieter : That was excellent !

  • oh wow, this is from today? I've got like 10 tabs open on topics comparing Cubasis to AEM... wish I'd seen this one first, methinks it's got all the answers I need!

I completely forgot about PDC, that’s a big one!

    Great overview!

That AUM hack for midi fx is clever, I gotta try that! So it sounds like AEM is your go to?

    Yes!

    Zenbeats? 😂😜

JK. I don’t have AEM so I can’t say but it’s looking better every time you show it off. Vocal tune studio is very compelling and I love how engaged the Dev is.

I’ve had every version of Cubasis since the beginning and while it’s a great app for sure, not for me. Just not really fun or compelling to use.

I'm thinking about getting cubasis for the multi core support... But I know that if I don't find the ux inspirational I won't use it. Mind sharing what doesn't work for ya?

Cubasis is a great and capable app if it’s your style, but from my experience, I wouldn’t pick one (or the other) based on ‘multi core’ support (or lack thereof). It’s really been a non factor for me. Both apps can support pretty dense music sessions. It’s a cool point for the checklist, but it really has meant nothing for actually making music (for me).

Chris’s first pro session with Red Rodney who was portrayed in the movie “Bird “.. He replaced Miles Davis in the Charlie Parker quintet. Bob Belden and Dave Kikoski He was 19..
I rapped on it and wrote the lyrics although Red made me change a few lines so that not all of makes sense (“Fat Louie- Fight night “ etc. “
