Which drum app
I’m working on recording a demo….I’m a hard rock guitarist and I’m trying to get some songs recorded. I have been thinking about using my guitar into my audio interface while using Ibassist but I still need a good app for drums. Right now I have been using rock drummer but it does seem a little limiting so I have been looking at session drummer and drum perfect pro….does anyone have an experience with me either of these….which would you recommend?
Also does anyone have Ibassist? Would it be good for hard rock??

Depends what you want to do.
Session drummer, I have but never really used.
DPP is great for realism in sound, the preset rhythms are very good but it’s up to you to create what you want in there. Great app, IAA interface, the player is AU but you can only play back presets from the player.
Drum session is another option… I didn’t get into that either but easyish to use.
In what respect is rock drummer limiting?
Are you using a host app like AUM or using apps standalone?
GarageBand.
That’s a fair point. Do that. +1
I have Drum Perfect and it great and all but sort of overly complex compared to like Superior Drummer . It alway takes me quite while to remember how to use it. I now mostly use Digistix 2 and replace the drums with my own samples. But overall Drum Perfect is the best option if you dig into the app.
This is a example of Drum stems exported from Drum Perfect into Cubasis .

This is Digistix 2 with kicks and snares added for round robin maybe can't remember actually.

I’ll say it again… GarageBand on iOS. It’s dead simple and it can still be customized in so many ways that it should be the obvious first choice, unless you’re into lots of time signature changes, difficult polyrhythms or drastic tempo shifts (and much of this can be addressed by simply manually entering beat patterns).
If you are primarily a rock guitarist and not into programming your own beats, it’s either GarageBand or use the desktop instead. I have been looking for a good solution with Cubasis and there doesn’t seem to be one.
