Been waiting for this one for a while. Just downloaded it this very moment, it's a cornucopia of cinematic goodness. Thanks for the heads up @bixnood

  • Are the drums good and plentiful? I bought the full upgrade with all the packs in their recent sale and thought it was kind of light on drums.

    @1P18
There a 4 Drum Kits in the Steamworx pack. 01 "Age of Steam Kit" 02 "Inventor Kit" 03 "Mad Scientist Kit & 04 "Steam Machine Kit"

  • I bought this after listening to the demos - they are specifically stated to be from the mobile edition.

The Serenity and the Toy Crusade convinced me to get it.

But these presets are not in the pack.

Are the demos names of Songs or are they supposed to be the preset sounds?

That said, these are great Camel sounds - worth every sent - and the Basses are simply immense.

It's the names of the songs.

Really nice sounds btw. Great cinematic oriented stuff. Some lovely various choirs in there, love the chanting stuff!:)

Thanks - now to find the presets they used...

  • Very subtle effects, too.

Crypt Bass is rich - then, after release the bells gently fade into the distance - really atmospheric.

  • Steamworx is just the best sound library out there.... for me ;)

  • @Yan - the demos are included in the download. Song > Open, look for songs starting with Steamworx.

Thank you I hadn't realised that - knowing this will help me get further into Alchemy!

Like most of the other libraries, this one is amazing in its richness and diversity.

I would really like Camel to bring out more of the sounds in each their full libraries as additional sets, they are all worth the few bucks they charge.

  • For me it's impossible to buy....I try 100 times but nothing :-(

  • @ZenPunkHippy, great addition to the library and probably the best so far imo.

  • Ok...now I download it....is because I have the Beta installed, I download the normal app and now works :-)

Wonder why i get new soundbanks for free,
Not complaining, just asking if someone knows?image

  • @Kloon - do you own Alchemy desktop or Player? And Steamworx? If you also have the Mobile Pro Upgrade, that would be why.

Something else, might be a bug ... which would be strange ... let me know, thanks!

  • Yeah i do, i own Alchemy complete! :)
    Thanks!

  • I really like Alchemy as an app - it's super deep in crafting sounds but somehow a lot more accessible than a traditional synthesizer. But the app is just so HUGE I can rarely carry it. It pushes 100 MB just for the base package, and while the sound presets can be altered quite a bit, there aren't that many of them.

This add-on looks terrific, but the costs and memory can add up pretty quickly and I feel like I have enough sounds from elsewhere. But I understand the appeal.

    Well said that man

When I tried to buy this update in the alchemy app, it tells me that my Apple ID or password is wrong. However, my Apple ID and password work great in the App Store, as well as at iCloud.com.

    Anyone else have this issue?

UPDATE: after about 20 tries, it finally worked for me.

    Hi Storm,

Must say I'm a bit confused about this statement. I have all 16 packs of presets, each one contains about 50 presets which is 800, plus the many more presets in the initial professional factory packs.

Given that each preset (as you say) can be altered quite a bit - 8 variations in each preset or 8 x 800 = 6,400 variations. (Plus essentially infinite more that can easily be created).

For someone like me who hasn't the slightest ability to make a preset, this is the most versatile music app I have (and I have most of the great ones). I find the ability to tweak the presets and always achieve a usable sound make this an incredibly powerful and versatile tool.

My opinion, of course, and this app doesn't gel with many musicians needs, but I do think you understate the range of sounds available.

I think you have to own the desktop version of the Sound Libraries (for use in Alchemy or Alchemy Player) to get a free corresponding Alchemy Mobile version (if you have Pro upgrade).

When you buy the complete set of Libraries you get all the existing libraries. As new libraries are added, the cost of the complete set increases. New libraries must be bought individually. That's reasonable, I believe, because new libraries aren't an upgrade, just an addition to the range of sounds. Everyone pays the same whether they bought the complete pack with, say, half the current libraries, or the complete pack today.

I buy new libraries instantly when they are released. I'm perfectly happy with that arrangement as are most users I expect.

Me, too, I just wasn't sure if it was an inclusive license.

I got the complete pack when it was on sale, an incredible deal.

  • I'm also from Berkeley, John!

That is, Berkeley, a suburb of Wollongong which is 80km South of Sydney, in NSW, way down under in AussieLand. Just down the road from you...

  • We'll have to jam, mate!
