Surface Pro with Bitwig
so I just got a surface Pro 6 with bitwig 16 track studio running in tablet mode and everything is just so slick and sounds wonderful. very close to iPad level- but pro software-also got wavestate and modwave native arturia bucha easel V softube modular synplant and some glitchmachines plug ins- everything works with multitouch and is smooth- (although I need a mouse to patch cables on the easel for some reason) -
iPad isn't the only music tablet in town!

I also have an old Asus tactile with BitWig it’s a very powerful solution, certainly more powerful and straightforward than any iPad audio daw.
BitWig Is my favorite daw with Logic available and a computer.
BitWig has touch big advantages: it is tactile and it’s a non linear sequencer.A touch screen is so pleasant to use ( that’s why I totally give up the Mac I constantly put my hand on the screen and…. Arghh!!! Nothing)
Anyway I ’m still usingthe iPad for my music production the for two reasons : First, I really dislike Windows, not the U.I. (Metro Is cleaner and simpler than apple wannabe Android U.I. With annoying a parasite gestures), but windows is a pain when handling everyday tasks, it look like an unstable stack of old technologies..
The other reason I’m still using the iPad is song chaining. Loopy pro and AUM can assign program change to songs, it’s so great, and impossible to do with BitWig.
On desktop there’s no daws that allow you to create a song and play them on stage in on go , you always have to use two applications, one to create the song then export stems then a second to import your stems and create a playlist. If you modify your song re export and so on …
That’s why I produce all my songs using AUM , not as easy as BitWig but routing is cool and the workflow so creative ...
it’s a shame Apple won’t make its Mac touch compatible just because they fear to sell less iPad. Apple has so great product and the best OS available today, it’s a shame they made their U.I. and lineup is so complexe those days.
It is but you will have to cough 70 USD : UPDD touch driver works wonder. Touch is not as instant as iPad, but that works great with a 24 inch screen connected to my Mac studio !!
