More Textquencing: Trinity

“I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” Robert Oppenheimer’s famous quotation from the Bhagavad Gita on completing the first successful A Bomb test are the magic words fed here into Textquencer:

It generates a piece which I believe is a little more evolved than my first effort yesterday. And a lot gentler than I expected. But wherever the Goddess of Random goes, I must follow…

Main, er, bloopy ‘melody’ on Trooper driven by the Textquencer with assistance from Thermo synth, Droneo, Fluss, and ID700, each driven by some random slice of the original delivered via Midi gates. The usual cast of thousands in the reverb dept, live mixed and recorded in AUM via Bark Filter to AudioShare.

Definitely a fan of this thing…

  • this is dark, I dig it.

  • Gentle, and quite dark.
Wow, what gear involvement this creation is made of.
    Enjoying the sounds.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • Wow... Opened the thread last year. Just listening now. Why didn't I listen to this masterpiece before?

  • Suitably dark indeed. This app opens up a ton of possibilities.

Thanks all, for the listens and kind comments. :) (especially @tja - very droll!)

I was pleased how this one turned out. I was watching the amazing tv series Chernobyl on disc for the first time over the holidays (I know how to have a good time at Christmas!) which features an awesome, ominous soundtrack by one of my favourite artists, Hildur Guðnadóttir https://tidal.com/artist/7409911, who used the sounds of a real nuclear power station to build her soundscapes.

I must confess to possibly having been a little overdetermined by the exposure to the show, and subsequent thoughts of apocalypse when it came to my own little thing… :)

Oh - and - Happy New Year?

    :)

  • Great track!

  • Weirdly I’d bookmarked this thread for later listening, but not got back to it. Just had a preliminary listen on just the iPad speakers and it’s definitely up to your usual standard. Hoping to have a proper listen on headphones later when I go for a walk.

Textquencer is definitely now on my list of apps to purchase/explore once I’ve got past the app overload from my recent buying spree. It may even sneak in quicker, because I really like the concept, particularly having hidden meanings in music.

  • Evocative.
    And provocative.
    And all the other -ocatives.

    Really quite beautiful.

  • @rottencat : my thanks to you are reciprocative! :)
