Best IOS (Iphone compatible) multi-layer sample library and player

Looking for a good library and player of multi-layer samples of instruments like horns, strings, guitars, world instruments, etc. Need something that can be loaded as a audio unit in Drambo (Garageband won't work).

Any tips?

  • Start with Beathawk and its IAPs. It has world instruments, guitars, strings, horns, and much more. Beathawk can be used as a standalone app, but even better is it can be loaded in any AUv3 host, including Drambo.

I do prefer the KAPro packs in Korg Module for orchestral sounds, but Beathawk's sounds are also incredible and all you'd really need.

I have "Pure Synth Platinum All Sounds" scheduled on my list of purchases for January, so if I remember to, I'll report back as to how I like that. :)

  • @jwmmakerofmusic gave the best. If not the best, one of the best recommendations

Besides that, there's always the option of using BS-16i with some quality soundfonts

Maybe something from Gospel Musicians like Pure Synth Platinum or MK Sensation.

These below are not built in libraries but they are widely available.

Decent Sampler, lots of free and paid patches online, however the presets are usually large and if you want to store a bunch might get tricky for space reasons.

SoundFonts are always a viable option, not always velocity layered, but there’s so many free and paid ones out there. Using an app like bs16, SoundFonts AU, or a few others.

Audiolayer with free and purchased SFZ files, which are all over the web.

    IAA
I would say Thumbjam and DrumJam but neither are Au, IAA only.

Edit. I missed the iPhone part, however I think all of these are available on iPhone.

Also loads EXS24, there were some issues but I think the developer sorted that out.
