IOS Effect to Simulate Voice over Megaphone?
Is there an iOS app that I can use to effect my voice to fake a voice in a megaphone?
Comments
i dont know if there is an exact app. but scrolling (and slight knob twisting) of some presets in bleass saturator or lofi af should do the trick.
A reverb that loads ir's like altSpace2 then you just need to find a megaphone ir on the web. You can also use any EQ.

Make a similar curve in the EQ of your choice.
I was gonna mention somebody asked something similar a few weeks ago, and was gonna link to the topic because there where some good tips there.![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Weirdly enough, searching for megaphone on the forum returns not so satisfying results
Yeah... agree that EQs are the way to go. Some even have old phone or megaphone presets. Add the saturator and it will be cool.
GarageBand has a preset on the voice effects if i'm not wrong.
But let's try and direct this to what you use. What apps are your usual suspects? (DAW, host, FX, etc)
I have an app that does telephone. Would that suffice? I think it was Bark Filter with that preset.
LEWITT had a short on this a while back…

VoiceRack FX has a preset for that specifically.
Just wait for Audiothing to port Speakers 🤞🏼
This one has been around for a while but I believe it does what you’re asking for.
Thanks for the reminder @CracklePot.
@Montreal_Music This effect is included in GarageBand for iOS. Add a vocal track and there is a "Bullhorn" sound option. You can record your vocal track and then export it to any other DAW of choice.
Since you have an iPad it's free.
Thanks for bringing my attention to that one. What a wonderfull app. It is going to be very usefull to me.
Try Ratshack reverb. Not exactly megaphone, though, more like a worn-out speaker system on an 80’s skating ring. Sounds really cool.
without specific plugins, it is about hard limiting the high and low frequencies, and filtering the remaining middle frequencies. An EQ with low cut and high cut ranging deep into the mids, some notch filters up and down to pronounce the bullhorn effect. Then possibly through a lowpass/bandpass/highpass, or all three of them. Maybe even only with lowpass/bandpass/highpass. One can experiment with parallel and serial processing, which can become a bit complicated, but with full control over the effect.
It’s a combination of:
I love Ratshack for some lofi slapback delay stuff
How is this one working? I've read in other posts that it's kind of buggy, and hasn't been updated in 5 years
I couldn’t get it to load as IAA in AUM.
It works fine as an AU in AUM when I use it occasionally. I don’t rely on it heavily, and don’t use it for extended or live sessions, so not sure if it totally reliable.
But the other people couldn’t seem to get it to work at all. I never encountered that situation. It seems to function correctly when I use it.
If interested, Air 4 iOS 15.7.2, both apps up to date.
Try the AU. That version is working for me.
Duh! I remembered it as being IAA only so didn’t even look at the AU! You are correct! 😆👍🏼
Yep, AU is still working fine for me on 16.2
Had also completely forgotten about this app. Ugly, to my taste, but definitely useful, cheers!
Many thanks for the info! it does look really useful indeed, I might jump in.
