Simulating Ciat-Lonbarde Deerhorn and Cocoquantas on iOS
Has anyone got any suggestions for ways of simulating Ciat-Lonbarde Deerhorn and Cocoquantas on iOS?
Something about these sounds really calls me, and I'm looking for a way to create something that might sound and work in a similar way on the iPad. Or even the iPhone.
I've been exploring possibilities for a couple of days now, but would love to hear any suggestions.

I'd be interested in this too!!
I’m interested, too.
I know Hainbach has referred to Gauss as his Cocoquantas-like app, but it’s obviously not got the chaotic stuff in there.
I have made a couple of attempts at a CCQ patch in MiRack using (once I realised it was there) the Quantussy Cell module from Frozen Wasteland and two of the Nysthi clockable delays, with Squinky Labs wavefolders in the feedback loops to add some grittiness. It’s hard to control, though, and attenuverters are essential to avoid it just going completely bananas (unless that’s what you want).
I don’t know enough about the Deerhorn to know where to start, though.
the coco delay is 8 bit and very noisy. So you could use your favorite delay and put unfiltered audio lo-fi-af behind or before the delay or both. This gets you in the ballpark.
the inner workings of the coco are oscillators and lfos intermodulating each other.
i had a plumbutter2 and a coco once but the cables were too much for my little room.
the only thing I miss sometimes is listening to pulses sent into the ultrasound filters of the plumbutter. the rhythms I got out of that were fascinating to me.
and to have instruments made out of wood was very nice.
Outside of something like mi rack or audulus, I wonder if feedback patches using the plugins folks are suggesting (Gauss + delays + lo-fi-af) in ape matrix might get you in the right ballpark with a decent workflow. Ape Matrix makes it easy to do extreme things with signal routing.
Good suggestions above re the coco.
The beauty of Deerhorn is the theremin control. I’ve never seen that done with an iPad app. Maybe one might use TC-Data to send CCs to AUM’s channel faders to approximate the Deerhorn mixing experience—perhaps with TC patches using the iPad device motion sensors. TC-data is not quite as cool as Deerhorn’s theremin control, but still pretty cool. I might have to have a play with this myself. I’ve never tried using TC as a mixer control before, but it sounds super fun.
Great input so far. Thanks @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr I'm checking out TC-Data. I have TC-11, so that's of interest as an interface. I'm looking for synths and sound sources. I like the suggestions of Gauss + delays + lo-fi-af too, @ohwell, and @dreamrobe.
I'm exploring miRack and VCV Rack 2, and I've been rooting around online for Ciat-Lombarde samples. I found a few. I also keep being directed towards Hainbach. I'm awaiting more of his creations coming to iPad for sure. I found a few samples through him, and I love Gauss, Fluss, and Fundamental (I have v1 but can't afford v2 yet).
I'm not sure how it fits in yet, but I have a sense that sqslTemp might be a handy interface for me to explore this with too.
Regarding Theremin-like interfaces, I'd love an app (or maybe just a Drambo module) that can use the proximity sensor as input to generate modulation signals
I didn’t even know there was a proximity sensor! We’d need three of them to emulate a Deerhorn. But even having one would be excellent.
After a cursory search, it looks like developers can only access an on/off state, so it wouldn't work for this 😕. I don't know if the LIDAR scanner in the newest iPads could be used instead.
Maybe MusiKraken can help with the Theremin type controller.

Another, related question for this thread is where might I find some Ciat-Lonbarde samples, or presets for iOS apps?
I have a few in a collection of Hainbach samples, and have a lovely preset for Fundamental 1, from PanicGirl, which is what caught my attention on this subject of having some of these sounds available via my iPad.
I have a Leap motion and ages ago I experimented with Max/Msp and this type of sounds.
I don’t understand any type of excitement about Ciat-Lombarde ecosystem but with Leap Motion this kind of control is very easy to achieve
Example
And since leap motion can output to CC’s….anything is possible
That looks like a great solution, using the camera to track hand position and convert to CC.
In at least the earlier episodes of the deer horn podcast you can find some sessions made with C-L instruments:

Oh yes, I listen to The Deer Horn podcast, even though I can't afford one! I'm listening right now.
