The iPhone's and iPad's integrated "Photos" app can do cropping, trimming and apply all photo adjustments / filters on videos.

  • I was going to suggest CapCut, but I hear it’s made by the same people that make TikTok, so “data collection” might be a little sketchy.

I’ve never had a problem with it, after using it for a few years on various projects. It’s free, full featured, no IAPs, and no ads.

    Really?

    The App Store says this:

    Wow! I’ve never seen that!

I must have got this app early on, because I one, never paid a dime, and two, as far as I can see, I have all features (video effects, transitions etc) and I’ve never seen anything about subscribing or anything about cloud storage in the version of the app I have.

Edit: FWIW, I’ve never “signed in or up” for any account with them either. I’ve only used the video editing tools and was never asked to pay anything.

It looks like you already have it. Does it ask you to pay or subscribe?

  • Jade Star did a video on this and highly recommended it

    No.

But there is a Pro button in several location, like within filters and such.

Also, on some projects in the upper right corner, near the resolution.
But strangely not on all projects

Ah, then they’ve changed it since I “got” it. I don’t see any Pro buttons anywhere.

    Updated above with images.
    I installed in August 2020

Hmm, strange. Yeah I don’t have any Pro buttons. Then again, I don’t see those particular filters either (Love City, 2077 etc).

I also installed in August 2020!

You must have signed in or created an account. I never have. I just downloaded the app and started using what came with it.

I have looked and looked, but fail to see ANY way or anywhere to “go Pro” from within the app. The only way I can figure, would be to sign in, or create an account.

    It does

    Ok.

One way I can surely see the Pro button:

Open a new project, any screen recording or whatever.
Use the rightmost button "Adjust" and then the tab "Video Quality"... there should be a "remove flickers" option, with a Pro button

Ok, after I hit the “Adjust” button, I have these options:

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Wow, yeah I have no “Video Quality” tab lol

Sorry OP! @emjay didn’t mean to hijack!

  • I don't think there is a no tracking, no ads, no data farming Video editing app on iOS

I use Vita which is a clone with some extra bells and whistles from the same developer as CapCut (but they changed their name for the Vita app)

I see the same and I have an account logged in. I can buy additional cloud storage to add to the free 512 mb they gave me that's all I see.

That is disappointing. I’d be willing to pay a small price, even. Free is great, but I value those other aspects more highly.

Just buy Lumafusion, it is super fast and updated often.

    This. ☝️

And it does have a subscription @emjay , but it's optional for "storyblocks" (video and audio assets). All editing functions and such come with the base purchase. I've used Lumafusion for years now. Worth the money.

  • Personally, the editing capabilities built into the phone are quite enough for me.
