Tru Lov

I decided to rework my track True Love and The Dawn. Replaced the strings with a full piano left hand. It made a big difference. Also, remixed the strings and did some midi editing. Hope you’ll like it.

Comments

  • I must have Vowel OCD… Those missing “e”s and killing me.

Good decision to use the left hand for a piano rich experience. What an amazing instrument. You dedicated your life to making it obey and probably would like a few more lives to complete the journey.

  • The silences growing in between the notes in this mix help me to enjoy your playing more. I like this over the original mix, a lot. I only wish that could be a violinist (viola-ist? Another intended stringed player? I’m not very good at picking that detail out) in there, not a midi file.

  • Simply beautiful!!!
I agree with Kewe, the silences in between the notes is truly lovely!
You are truly a piano artist, and I love this creation.

  • Thanks @McD @Kewe_Esse @ReneAsologuitar. Silences are, indeed, golden.

I considered do a re-mix of just the silences but the damn reverb exposes the actual notes. So, I just turned the master volume down to zero and made a nice “The Unspoken Notes of Michael Levy” track. I played it for my wife and she fell asleep. I played it for the cats and they also snoozed.

Honestly, I prefer notes in the mix. But it is worth considering that most effective rhythm does require silences.

Enjoy another few hours on the front page. All comments are good for the creator… even “Not your best work.” That usually gets opposition or the right to defend yourself.

Hmm, “I really enjoyed the decay period of the notes played against the lower ambience + accompaniment levels in this version (as opposed to the original mix), as it allowed me to focus on the rhythmic qualities of the individual notes being played as they occurred, in accordance with which, when the accompaniment was cued, it was more intensely pleasurable due to it’s absence elsewhere in earlier sections…”

Urgh my brain too fried for the social/analytical elements of this. But at least your wife and cats got a snooze in! And of course, yet more time for @LinearLineman on that precious front page.

  • I definitely agree that this is a case of “less is more”. While the strings in the original arrangement are perfectly fine this version has a greater emotional impact for me.

  • I always find tru lov when I take two Es

  • (this is beautiful)

  • Thx for listening @FastGhost. Appreciated!

  • I’m looking forward to @LinearLineman ’s greatest silences track. If John Cage can do it 😊
    Wonderfully delicate track 🙏
