Ainu Crane Dance
After yesterdays ambient trip Between the Stars here is something far more lively and down to earth…
When I first found these sounds on the BBC Sound Effects site I, ignoramus that I am, assumed they were from somewhere in Africa.
It turns out ‘ The Ainu are the indigenous people of the lands surrounding the Sea of Okhotsk, including Hokkaido Island, Northeast Honshu Island, Sakhalin Island, the Kuril Islands, the Kamchatka Peninsula and Khabarovsk Krai, before the arrival of the Yamato Japanese and Russians.’
This is their Crane Dance which is so hypnotic and rhythmic it hardly needs any tinkering but tinker I did😊
A2M is used to convert the sounds into midi which then plays everything else.
