A Cup Of Tea / the potent SWAM Bansuri

I’m thinking this is one of the better ones. Certainly the SWAM Bass Flute sounds great to me.

  • Sounds really good!
Are you using a breath controller?

  • Very nice, digging the simplicity
Chords, harmonies, rhythm that would not occur to me at all
Listened making tea before my first weekend at work this year, entirely appropriate altogether

  • When that flute started i got some Ron Burgundy vibes, but what a lovely instrument, and lovely use of it. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks @rs2000 @rs2000, no, I didn’t use a breath controller. On the trills I did hold one finger down while playing the other which creates a realism somehow.

@Kewe_Esse, yeah, sometimes I listen to music and try to predict what comes next. Often I’m right. Listeners like predictability. Not me.

@belldu thanks for listening. I know Will Ferrel played Ron Burgundy but not sure of your reference.

  • Sorry for the obscure reference. I have a problem in that any usage of the flute in a non classical setting triggers memories of Ron Burgundy playing 'Jazz Flute'. Didn't mean to take anything away from your piece, its lovely.

The new NAADA Bansuri is good too. And you can play two notes at once!

  • I have a bansuri, which is very difficult to learn to play (still working on it though). I love the way you have used it in this setting rather than use any traditional North Indian techniques - it works really well with this piece.

  • Interesting use of the Bass Flute - loving the different tones you can get from it.

I heard shades of 'Killer Joe' in this one. Diggin' it!
