@Paulieworld, this one also has a staggered drum part. Three tracks this time, all staggered, transposed and mixed in and out. It seems unlikely to have a Celtic feel considering the instrumentation, but I think it does.
I listened to this a few times last night. It's very pleasant to the ear. The staggered drums sound very natural. I can't hear anything that sounds contrived, just like real humans playing. I will use the technique in future tracks. I think the pipes are what give it the Celtic sound. I grew up with that in the background and it brings back nice memories. Also, the mention of Kilkenny brought back a flood of memories from our trip in 1967. We passed through Kilkenny on our way from Dublin to Waterford. We stopped for lunch and the waiter spilled milk on me. Funny that can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday.
There once were two cats of Kilkenny,
Each thought there was one cat too many,
So they fought and they fit,
And they scratched and they bit,
Till, excepting their nails
And the tips of their tails,
Instead of two cats, there weren’t any.
It somewhat brings to mind the theme to the British television series Indian Doctor that I've been watching lately, which is about an Indian doctor who ends up working in a mining town in Wales in the 60s. The theme combines like Celtic flutes with tabla.
Nice coming together of cultures there. Same kind of integration of music styles heard in the likes of Afro Celt Sound System, but obviously different cultures in this case.
Very pleasant to listen to and nice mix too.
I look forward to staggering drum tracks @Paulieworld!
Thanks for listening @Lady_App_titude @michael_m and @AlterEgo_UK
