Do Any iOS Sequencers Have This Function?

Most iOS sequencers can divide the beat into two equal parts (1/8ths), three equal parts (1/8th triplets), four equal parts (16ths), six equal parts (16th triplets), and multiples of those, but are there any sequencers for iOS that let you set the beat division yourself? I can do it on my desktop version of Cubase. I suppose it’s called tuplets.

I’d like to be able to divide the beat into 5 or 7 etc, but still have it in time with other things, which just setting the number of steps or changing the time signature doesn’t achieve.

I think this is possible within Atom 2.
And in MultiTrackStudio you can divide any given note evenly in however many equal parts you like.

edit: Janpieter got there first

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but MultiTrackStudio (a DAW rather than a sequencer) lets you select a note of any length and then split it into n equal parts, for example, here is me splitting a note which is half a bar in length into seven parts:

  • There are also a few sequencers which let you ‘ratchet’ steps so the same note is played n times in succession, but that might not be what you are looking to do.

Ah, I’ve got atom 1 but not 2. I’ll have a look at it. It’s the piano roll itself I want to divide, rather than individual notes.

I should have been clearer, I think. It’s the actual resolution of the piano roll itself I’m looking to change. I should have described it that way.

    Atom 2

Perfect. Thanks! That is so impressive having the 3,5,7,9,11and 13 tuplets as preset options too.

  • Cool. Time for polymeter experiments.
