Are Rhodes entering the software market?

This could shake up the software electric piano sector.

  • Very interesting and exciting 🤩

  • I'm not enough of an electric piano nerd to know, but what's the difference between mk1 (which vtines models) and mk8?

The little I know is that the mk8 is the new EP from Rhodes, under new ownership. Totally customizable btw: https://rhodesmusic.com/product/rhodes-mk8/

As far as sound, I would assume the same tone just more refined mechanics.

Thanks, so probably not necessary for the average user, will check the link tho!

  • Not so sure that it will shake things up that much. It’s not just the sound that makes the piano, but the hardware itself. To really get the experience with software you need a keyboard that will provide an authentic action.

There are quite a few passable software Rhodes on the market already, so not sure what they can offer that is significantly different.

  • VTines is still my go to being a modeled Rhodes, so much flexibility and almost next to no space being used
