Final Touch Question
Has anyone else notice that since last update of Final Touch the output volume has been cut by about half. Anyone else has this problem.
Comments
I can hear perfectly (I think) through the headphones, but throught the iPad speaker the volumen is close to zero. So I don't know what's wrong.
Tried with several tracks, and confirmes: I can't barely hear anything.
I didn't really use it much until yesterday and noticed it. Sent the developers a email, hope they respond.

Yes, me too. I invited him to post the answer here.
Is it possibly related to that "measurement mode" that has affected other apps in this way?
I have just received the answer from Positive Grid:

Final Touch is a Mastering app, and as such we never intended for anyone to use the built-in iPad speakers to make fine EQ adjustments, etc. Please use headphones when using Final Touch. A request ticket has been submitted to add an output selector like in JamUp, but I do not know when it will be incorporated into the app.
Hope that helps

That's exactly what it sounds like.

Please, could you explain this deeply? Thanks.
From RIM over on the Auria forums:
"The volume bug in this thread only affects iOS6 and 7, and has to do with a change that Apple made regarding the built-in speaker. Apple always added compression to the speaker, but in iOS6 and 7, turned it off for apps that request "measurement mode" (a special mode that allows recording from the built-in mic without any Apple processing). Measurement mode used to only affect the mic, but in iOS6 and 7, they made it affect the speaker as well. I've got an update coming that will allow you to switch this mode off and enable the Apple compression like before."
And audiobus now has the same switch, so you can record into audio share or other apps from the built in mic without the high pass filter, etc. It does make a difference, good for capturing something if you don't have a mic with you. A mic is still better, but measurement mode is better than with apples processing.
Thanks, @Tarekith.
I just hope they fix the constant crashing and cutting ends of the sound files when pasting into the app
It's a great app, but for me it's one of the least stable ones :-(
Really hope they fix these issues
Yer, i wish they fix the fade-in on exported files too
