DigiStix 2 - humanise function

Once hits have been added to the grid, is it possible to humanise their timing? If not, does anyone have a workaround in a DAW environment?

Turn any "snap to grid" off and adjust the timing (and velocity if you so choose) of each note "by hand". It's a pain in the rear, yes, but worth it in the end. When I make beats in a more "J Dilla" style in NS2, this is exactly what I do. In FLSM, there is a humanise function that I use for "acoustic" instruments, but I still hand-edit the note timings of the drums to get the groove I want.

  • I never tried this but maybe Add an instance of Mozaic with Ranbo script which adds random velocity and timing to notes going through it. Send midi out to Mozaic then back into DS2

    Or

Record the midi out of DS2 into a piano roll, ie Atom 2, then you can manually adjust it, or add Mozaic with Ranbo script in the midi chain to add timing and velocity variations.

    Or

use another sequencer to sequence DS2, that has those things.
