Slicing up a sample in E-L-S-A … ‘elp!
I’m digging further into Elsa just now and want to play different sections of a loaded sample with each new note. My question is about how to add those vertical white lines that represent the section boundaries when dividing the sample up - I see them in the presets but I can’t fathom how to add these to a sample myself.
My understanding is that these sample dividing lines are independent of the 1-8 dividers that playback fractions of the sample, but correct me if I’m wrong about that!
Unfortunately the help text exceeds the size of the help box and the text will not scroll so I couldn’t properly check there for the answer.

It seems to require a key press on the internal KB, set the region for that key by dragging start and stop markers, hit the next note, set the markers, and keep going to define the region each note will play, specifically.
And be sure the app is in ‘one note per sample’ mode. Oh yeah, the lines are red/green when doing this. White markers are for the 1-8 dividers, it seems.
Yep got it - thanks for chiming in there @CracklePot
Nothing to do with the white lines at all
Cool. Enjoy this wacky app!
😁
Brace yourself…. Seems there’s a significant update to Elsa in the works
I do really wish this dev would make proper manuals - sometimes the help sections aren't really enough. Even just a one page detailed description for each app would be super useful.
Perhaps he’s into mystery and exploration
