Midi Guitar 2 - a run through some presets and apps

As a follow-up to my PD Space Guitar video, here is a run through some presets from Jam Origin's Midi Guitar 2 (but mainly its use with AUV3 apps for an even greater range of sounds).
If you don't want your guitar to sound like a guitar, or want it to sound like a different guitar, then this is for you!

  • Anyone using this as an AUv3 in Cubasis or similar? I just purchased the AUv3 option, assuming I could load it as a midi effect that could drive an AUv3 synth however this doesn’t seem to be the case. Does anyone know if this is possible?

does cubasis let you route midi originating from an audio effect ? mg needs to be loaded as an audio effect.

Good question! I have no idea. Hoping someone may know. Half managed to get the standalone app to talk to a Cubasis midi track so that’s something but may have to get the IAP for AUV3 refunded if it won’t work “natively” inside a DAW. The marketing blurb seems to indicate it can but…

Have you asked Jam Origin or Steinberg support? if Cubasis doesn't support midi routing from AUv3 that is a Cubasis shortcoming. You can still use MG2 as an AU. Fwiw, Auria Pro, AUM, and Loopy Pro can all route midi from MG2 to midi tracks.

Yes, will hit up support. Maybe @LFS may have an idea? Was trying in Logic (iPad) as well but no luck. Only just purchased the AUv3 IAP after having the app for a while (paid for the virtual midi IAP back when I got it I believe). Thought I’d hit up the brains trust here first :)
