    That’s a very Western European take on it though as it has its basis in heraldry. I think the history of dragons begins in Asia.

    I did, but I guess my mind wandered (as it usually does) to other things. It just seemed like heraldry was very quickly at the forefront of the article.

    Polymelia might provide a biological route to 6 limbed creatures, but it would have to a) be hereditary, b) be fully functional and c) confer an evolutionary advantage.
