A rack for iPad
I'm looking for a clean and minimal white rack stand for my iPad. Does such a thing exist?
I love this one, for Launchpad X, and would love if I could have the same for my iPad. Does anyone know of such a thing, or something that might be close enough for me? I want to be able to have it resting at an angle, on my desktop, when using the keyboards in LK in AUM etc. I currently only have a magnetic folding case/cover, but it gives every time I press on it. I've been looking at stands, but can't find anything that sits at desktop level.

Not available in the UK store. Also, it costs megabucks, compared to the Fonik racks.
IKEA used to sell these, they’re perfect but now discontinued…
Yes, I spotted those elsewhere. I'd love a wood one. In white, preferably.
etsy could be the answer!

Fonik have a custom order page!

I’m sure for a price they will make you a stand to fit your iPad that matches the push case.
Cremacafe if you look for wooden stuff and you like to support small artist company
The price might well be the sticking point for me.
Good thinking.
Nothing showing up that ticks my boxes on Etsy.
I emailed them, and I was very pleasantly surprised that they could make me a stand in the style of either the Launchpad X stand, or in the style of the Circuit Tracks stand, for £99.99. In white.
That's going on my birthday list. Not long to wait.
That’s not a bad price at all for bespoke
That was my immediate thought. The rack for the Launchpad X is only £10 cheaper. It's a really good deal. I'm surprised I dared to ask the price, but something spurred me on, thanks for the encouragement!
I think it will sit rather well, here on the right of my laptop:
Handy with the tools? How about making your own ?
I once was, I used to lead the Design Technology HND course, and teach on the Product Design B.Sc. course. But these days, I don't dabble, I have no tools, and no space to create in. With my birthday coming up, I'm happy to leave it up to Fonik to create my birthday present for me.
These work a treat

I had one of those, but I find the angle too steep, and the position too unstable, for creating on-screen, with LK keyboards in AUM, and in Samplr, Borderlands, etc. They're great for a viewing stand, but my current iPad case/cover works well for that. It's just when I lay it down at a low angle, I don't have the steadiness I'm looking for. I'm happily going with a custom order from Fonik, courtesy of my birthday money that's on its way in March.
Me again and just posting pics. Its all I acheived on IOS.
Anyway. I just use Apple pencil boxes. Which would be expensive stands?
I could never be comfy reaching forward to ipad. Even if close.
This is better.
Selling a cremacafe xl though. Which were for the faderfox.
Apple boxes are a stable design. Wrapped and taped with bin bag. Screws at bottom and sides of ipads, with black tape to soften the edge.
Have a look here. I like this solution a lot.

Yeah I get that, my use case is slightly different, mostly use it when connected to computer or modular as a sequencer source and/or effects box, and tend to just use it flat when playing screen instruments…
Meanwhile Fonik came through, apparently, but let me second this option just in general, maybe it helps others. We have a couple of these things around the house (a different Chinese brand, but basically the same thing) and they're great for iPad, laptop etc. The fact that it's foldable is a big bonus for storage. While clearly not Fonik class, they are also sturdier than they look.
Nice tip off. I would certainly use one for my laptop. I found them on Amazon UK also. Surprisingly cheap.
Nice!
I use the stand on my Dell XPS15 to prevent heat problems in the first place. The fan runs much less often.
In any case, it protects the inner workings of any laptop.
Keyboard can be operated very well despite tilt.
