AU Synths that aren’t compatible with GarageBand (IOS)

Going to be buying Zeeon in a couple of days and I saw an old post that said Zeeon didn’t load properly in GarageBand. Don’t know if that’s still the case so I wanted to ask…

As for 2023…are there any AUV3 capable synths that won’t work well in IOS GarageBand , like as far as crashing and whatnot (like SynthMaster One does for me). Did the Zeeon issue ever get fixed? I need to know for potential future purchases . Please, no “get a new DAW” or Drambo responses…

If it makes a difference, using my IPhone 13 Pro Max.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I just tested in it GarageBand iOS and it loaded up fine on iPad Pro. Are you running the latest iOS?

I wasn’t referring to myself having issues with Zeeon…I haven’t bought it yet lol. I had just read some older posts here and was wondering if that was still the case prior to me buying it

I already deleted SynthMaster One , but yes I had the newest version of iOS at the time of issue on my iPhone 13 Pro Max .. 16.3.1 just became available and about to update.

I was more asking if people knew of any issues overall with any synth and GarageBand on iOS, for future purchases I may make

edit-issue is being handled; see my thread

Looks like Zeeon crashes whether in AU or standalone. That was a waste of money -_-

Perform a force restart of your iPad. That might be the problem.

I trust very few instrument AUv3 these days. Use the GB internal synths and spice them up with good AUfx which for the most part seem stable

Yeah I might have to start doing that. One of my bandmates makes MIDIs and sends them to me (we work virtually) and most of my AU synths start tripping balls if I use MIDI (changing presets or volume even if no automation is set). Trooper, Poison 202, and Zeeon do it....OBXD, Animoog Z, Ripplemaker and Mood don't, however...even if it's the same track causing issues with the others!

I just got tired of the sounds in GB and wanted different sounds (and making my own patches)

Hopefully Copperhead and Agonizer don't have the same issue (the last two I had on my list to get!)

In some host apps the volume is mapped to CC7 (AUM/Cubasis for Instance) some thing in your midi file is sending the midi to CC7 making the volume go up and down. In AUM for instance you can click on the CHAN# at the bottom tap on the mixer icon go to channel controls , under volume turn off the midi assignment. Same issue for changing presets the midi file is sending cc0 making the banks change in some apps. Not sure how to resolve it in Garageband since I rarely use it but where ever you assign midi cc is the first place to look to resolve the issue. But in general cc7 is used for volume and cc0 bank change . https://nickfever.com/music/midi-cc-list

How do I fix that? I'm not really a technical person (I just turn knobs and hit keys until it sounds good to me lol) ; I do notice it happens too when I use something like ,say, Ripplemaker to make a MIDI (in standalone mode) , and I don't know CC7 from C U Next Tuesday

I was incorrect about it happening with Zeeon (think I had it on my mind having just got it yesterday)...seems to be only Trooper and Poison. Not happening with Copperhead either.

In Garargeband, I turn automation off as I despise it on IOS GB ...it is the bane of my existence...when doing covers I used to use free midis as a guide til I learned how to play it, but once you import something that has automation on it, it automatically adds the same settings to every new track too, and even when you turn it off sometimes it is still "on" -_-
