Inspired by one of my favourite Sting compositions, Englishman in New York with the brilliant Branford Marsalis on Soprano Saxophone.
Backing provided by Scaler 2 playing DRC, 2 * Rozeta Bassline playing Roli Noise Fluid Acoustic Bass and Scaler 2 Felt Piano. Lead is me playing SWAM Soprano Sax with GeoShred.

This is what I like when I’m looking for ideas for new material. Nice work, GT.
Wow, that’s some of your best work. What does Scaler do in this piece? I’ve never really understood what it is.
good stuff, very mellow
Cheers @Paulieworld @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr and @matdun25848834 .
Mellow is good + I’m happy to look for inspiration wherever it pops up 😊
Scaler is just providing a simple loop of F#m, B and C#m to play ‘Heaven Frame’ preset in DRC.
To be honest I’m struggling to get a grip of Scaler 2, something about it just doesn’t gel with me, not sure what it is. I’ve watched most of the excellent tutorials by SFM and it still doesn’t come naturally. Perhaps too complicated for my simple brain 🧠
an impressive and very delicate piece of music. Soft, subtle, with just the right amount of dissonance here and there.
I really enjoyed listening.
Cool. Definitely caught the vibe of EINY. Would have got that even without the description. Nice work!
I was hoping for that catchy rhythm of the Sting tune but the sax solo made up for the change in tempo.
I could he a couple lines that reminded me of the tune.
This era of Sting’s career really sold me on his songwriting skills. Rick Beato has a great interview with Sting and a co-writer/guitar player, Dominic Miller, that contributed to a lot of the great songs from this era. As a personality Sting is a but much but as a musician/composer he’s pretty hard to fault:
Hi @GeoTony ,
Fragile and very emotional piece of music, and I am digging this.
Sax is surprisingly emoting this serene and relaxing vibe, love this very enjoyable creation.
You are in a roll, and your musicality and creativity is very much loved and appreciated.
I am truly impressed, simply beautiful!!!
Thank you, Tony!
Respectfully,
Rene
Love the melancholy feel of the saxophone. Most sax pieces sound either jazzy of a bit cheesy, this one doesn't, it's really beautifully performed.
