I already have the following apps. Is there any point in me buying FabFilter Saturn2?

I can’t decide. It’s £27 though, which is fine - but it takes it out of the impulse purchase range for me. Will it be bringing something new to the party - or will I end up wondering why on earth I bought it? 😀

Sorry - should have mentioned, I also have these -

  • Tonestack pro is life

  • Have you watched this

Saturn 2 is in it’s own league with multi-band processing and extensive modulation capabilities…

  • So much great insight. For me, for a more surgical multiband distortion/saturation/whatnot, Saturn 2 is king. For a more affordable solution that isn't so surgical but sounds great (to my ears mind you), can't go wrong with FAC Bandit. Saturn 2 is iPad only, while Bandit is universal. Hopefully that helps aid your decision. :)

Well, it seems like we have a dilemma here. Let me make it clear for you all. If you are looking for something exceptional and extraordinary, then FabFilter Saturn2 is the way to go. I mean, why are we even debating this? With its multi-band processing and extensive modulation capabilities, it's in a league of its own. And to the person who asked if it would bring something new to the party, the answer is a resounding YES. It's not just some run-of-the-mill guitar amps like some other apps have. It's unique and offers so much more. As for Tonestack pro being life, please, let's not kid ourselves. It's a decent app, but it's not on the same level as FabFilter Saturn2. And that video someone posted? It's not even relevant to the discussion. So there you have it, folks. If you want to take your music production to the next level, then get FabFilter Saturn2. You won't regret it. And if you don't believe me, just look at the countless positive reviews and satisfied customers. I rest my case.

You’re clearly a depraved appoholic (ie, one of us!). Why would you not get Saturn also?

  • it depends, will you use it? then yes. it is exceptional, i use it daily. its very easy to use subtly or all out mayhem. great app

  • I was thinking about buying an Analog Heat but went with this instead. So far I'm very happy, and so is my wallet.

  • Damn I have Saturn and I still have pains in my body and shortage of money in my account. I must be doing it wrong, maybe I should watch some unrelated videos

  • I think I will get it. I had only recently been playing with Eventide CrushStation which gave me the idea about Saturn 2. I have to say that CrushStation surprised me. For some reason it sounded better than I remembered it when I last had it out.
I’m selling some hardware anyway with no immediate plans to buy any more (unless these long awaited Berhinger Hirotribe things appear) so I will go forth and purchase in the very near future. I’m just waiting for that message from eBay ‘Get 80% off final valuation fees’ 😄 They seem to send me that offer on a regular basis for some reason. Whilst I’m waiting I’ll dig into a few that I had neglected a bit. I will buy it and report back on my findings. There’s too many resounding plaudits in favour of it.
    Thanks everyone 👍

I love Crushststion, but Saturn sounds very different,

  • Man walks into a bar and asks the people assembled there: "I haven't had a drink in 20 years after almost loosing my life to alcoholism. I think I could handle just one shot. Right?"

The crowd replies "Are you buying us a round?"

Asking this crowd if you should buy apps is a great way to get more apps.

@robosardine - seriously dude, once you get this deep in, the only reasonable course is to go the "gotta get them all" route. You're way past the fretting over individual purchases stage. 😂😐

Haha, that's the danger. In the case of this bot tho the giveaway line was 'And that video someone posted? It's not even relevant to the discussion.'

Lmao off... In fact.... This makes me almost certain that this was not a bot but an educated forum member doing some top quality trolling. Cos when you say Dan Worrall's FF Saturn tutorial isn't relevant to a discussion on whether to buy FF Saturn, you are clearly taking the mick.

  • It’s not just the affected eloquence, it’s the speech pattern gestalt. I’d analyse it further but I’d rather the botmasters did their own homework…

  • you don’t need any of them if you buy Saturn :-))

  • Hmm, the ‘mastermind’ theory… Like Dom Cumming’s Brexit masterplan, or Donnie Trump’s ‘short news cycle’… if I had to bet between the ‘mastermind’ vs ‘strange dumb glitch’ theories, I know where I’d put my money.

Well, I can assure you that I am not a bot.

Exterminate! Exterminate! You will be exterminated! Daleks control the Forum!

  • I vote get Saturn and learn it thoroughly. It will be the most efficient in the long run and reduce clutter. You’ll just have to admit that you may have better spent your money if you’d only gotten Saturn first.

However if the money is a true problem, plan B is experiment thoroughly with BYOD…it offers the most flexibility after what you have.

The lack of a Dan Worrall vid for Twin 3 so far signals darker days ahead for Fabfilter. It may seem silly, but if Worrall isn’t booked with other projects, then it feels pretty damning since he is a universally loved classic. They put about 0 effort into marketing this thing, maybe assuming their brand would speak for itself.

Excellent! Saturn 2 is far more surgical whereas Dials is based off of old test equipment. Both are great for my live Ambient workflow.
