Audio from Mac

Hello, this is my first post here and I'm excited to be part of the community!

I'm having trouble figuring out how to get audio from my mac (Monterey) into AUDIOBUS.
I have my iPad enabled in audio/midi settings on the mac but I'm only able to go FROM the iPAD TO the mac. I want to go the other way.
I'm connected to the iPad via USB C.
How are folks here accomplishing this?

First of all, welcome to the forum! B)

Sorry, but there isn't a way to do that with iDAM (audio/midi settings). Unfortunately it's one-way only for audio. Midi can go both ways.

    There are a few options:

    • StudioMux. In my experience it doesn't work very well, but other people have had luck. There will be latency (delay) though.
    • Sonobus. Lots of latency, unfortunately.
    • Audio out from the headphone jack to an audio interface on the iPad. Requires an interface and maybe some cable trickery.
    • Audio out from an audio interface such as the iConnectivity audio4c that allows flexible routing between two devices.

There are some other options. I'm sure people will chime in.

(tbh, I never bother anymore. It never seems worth the hassle. I just export to an audio file and airdrop to iOS. Audiobus doesn't have a built-in file player though. AUM, Loopy Pro, and other DAWs do.)

Hi wim and thanks so much for the help!
I have a Roland GO:MIXER and that is showing up in AB now!
    Everything works great but.......
Now that I have that plugged in, I no longer have the audio out from the iPad via iDAM.
I have the Apple USB-C AV multiport adaptor and I had hoped that this would pass the iDAM but it doesn't.
    Sadness abides :(
Any thoughts? Is there a hub or multi-adaptor that will allow me to go in with my interface and maintain going out through iDAM?

I hope it's not bad form to re-post this to the forum as it feels like a different question now.
