I've updated the SoundCloud link at the top ☝ with the addition of a third vocalist. I hired two different singers on Fiverr, and I've now added the second one and pushed my vocal way back in the mix to leave the blend of the two female vocals front and center.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out, the vocalists sound amazing, especially when their voices are blended together.

This is a nice alternative to version 2 but I wouldn't say better. One thing I did notice is I listened to it first through my laptop speakers and it sounded like the vocals were way to loud but then I listened through headphones and it sounded perfect. Strange!

Thanks! I should check the mix on the iPad speakers. My normal trick is to flip the mono switch in Auria when setting the vocal level, if it works in mono then it usually translates well. My guess is that the laptop speakers were filtering out the low end in this case, and the bass is quite prominent, so maybe that's why the vocals sounded louder.

My old HP laptop has B & O speakers, which sound pretty good as far as laptop speakers go and I use my Bose headphones.

Yes the low end through headphones is great but does get lost through small speakers. I might hook my laptop up to my monitors and see how that sounds. Will let you know.

Thanks, I would appreciate that. And also bearing in mind your feedback on version 2 vs version 3 I might push my vocal back up a bit so that it's not so far behind the other voices.

Just had a listen through my monitors via my Scarlett 18i8 and it sounds really great. I listened close up then about 12 feet away and the stereo image is really good. Nothing wrong at all with the mix.

If I was to be picky I would say the girl vocalists are not finely in sync with the words and phrasing, but that is to be expected if you hired them for a session rather than being band mates that can read each others vocals well and have sung together for a long time.

I would say the bass takes up too much space in the frequency spectrum, I would try to tighten it up a bit (cut off some freqs).

Your vocal is barely noticable at all now.

I still think the mix could be more transparent (just trying to be honest here).

Song is good though and I also like the female vocals.

Lining up the timing of the vocal performances of the ladies would take some work on the desktop I guess, but doable. Melodyne has some features to do this, Cubase also (e.g.).

Thanks for the feedback, I'll probably push my vocal back up a tiny bit (it should still be in the background, but I'll make it more audible).

I can probably fix the timing of the voices in Auria, I just need some patience I guess. I'll also take a look at he bass and the overall mix, the reverb usually creates mud in the lower mids so I will take a look at that.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
