Hello audiobUS

Hello audiobUS forum,

I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I have been following discussions here on the forum and it has become a part of my daily routine. I figured it was time to jump on board and contribute to the wealth of knowledge that is so generously imparted by members here.

I have been using the iPad in my creative life for some time now and was delighted to stumble across this site. It is gratifying to see others that are so passionate about the device as well as acknowledge the inane roadblocks apple has hamstrung the iPad with. It is pretty close to replacing my laptop but, not... That being said the developer community that continues to create fantastic apps for the device, in my opinion, makes it a must have for creative expression.

I currently do most of my work in Reaper (Logic - ProTools) on the PC/Mac for audio but, i have finished multiple songs now on the iPad exclusively. I know that is a 'duh' to most on this forum but, in the museBiz I know several that still think of the iPad as a consumption device which can be fun to create some ideas on.

I started releasing quite a bit of ambient/modular/experimental music during the pandemic and am still going. Here is the title song to my latest album.

Have a listen and let me know what you think.

  • Nice, what did you use to produce it?

  • Thanks Dino for the elements: used various sources from iPad, outboard and DAW (Reaper). I used MiRack and Fundamental from iPad (favorites), recorded my Electric guitar, the atmos at the end was my Piano (arpeggios) recorded to cassette tape and then back to DAW with heavy fx to push it back and make it feel kind of dreamy. There were also various blips and bleaps from outboard synth/modular. mastering in Reaper

  • Awesome track @citizenK
Welcome to the forum... And thanks for the overview of your process
    That's damn cool

    Cheers!

  • Welcome @citizenK, I too held out hope for about a decade that ios would usurp my desktop system and hardware, these days it lives in peaceful coexistence with them. <3

  • Cool, I really enjoyed that (bit of a sucker for spacey stuff)

Every lockdown has a silver lining I guess B)

  • Welcome aboard, shipmate. The static works great. And very soothing.

  • Listened to this last night, good stuff! And welcome to the forum. If you like ambient and experimental stuff, you're in the right place!

I’ve never met a reverb app I didn’t buy just to see if it could take me somewhere new. You’re music did just that.
I’m also growing fond of sine wave based sub-oscillators to open the wormhole or “Stargate” and really get out there.

Very soothing and transcendent musical style.

  • Welcome @citizenK happy to have ya, Cheers!

  • Nice work! Thank you for sharing!!!!

  • Sorry for late replies here ;)

@senhorlampada Thank you much - if i post and have a ? just ask - sharing the process with like minded people is half the fun!

@wired2moon yes it does and the it felt appropriate to chill the music during the pandemic - I know it helped me!

@LinearLineman thank you look forward to hearing more of your excellent music and performances!!

@Gavinski hey thanks G - i thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos - there are many that i have watched to get the ins/outs and functionality of an App. Your work is highly appreciated!!

@McD me too reverb is the second effect i learned - first was distortion ;) - glad you were transported!
