Can anyone recommend a TR-style drum sequencer that will record from incoming midi?
Subject says it all.
LoopBud is lacking as it’s too buggy, crashes constantly, etc
MidiTapeRecorder is lacking because it’s buggy (one you drag out loop point, you can’t drag it back!)
I basically need a TR style drum sequencer that works exactly like a real Roland TR sequencer.
Record from midi
Program via buttons
Set sequence length per track via adhoc start and end points…
Anything?

Patterning 2 offers circular TR , dev added midi record in I think
edit youtube confirm:
Shit. I have to be the one to say it? OK, I'll take one for the team.
... Drambo
Did you contact the mtr dev about that bug? He normally seems willing to fix things. What about loopbud? Dev can't fix the issues? I never really ended up using it
You beat me to it
Seriously though. It's exactly the answer.
What about
https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/egdr808-drum-machine-hd/id454709863 ?
I think the 808/909 type drum machine that comes with Pure Acid takes midi in.
Thanks. That may work. I have P1, never got P2, but this may give me reason.
Maybe mKer?
I haven't tried it, or even carefully read the app description to know if it records.

Interesting. I like his lfo thing.
You know you’re looking at a non-standard sequencer when it’s based around 20 steps!
His apps are definitely of the non standard variety haha. I’m a fan of mKer, from the few times I’ve used it so far. Loadkr is absolutely fantastic.
