9th. gen iPad + lightning / camera adapter + Atolla USB five port USB 3 hub (four data enabled + 1 charging only port) works fine here. I have even tried the seven port version and hat no problems.
The hub is connected to a TC-Helicon GO-Twin audio/MIDI interface and several USB-MIDI devices. Everything works great. I like these Atolla hubs, because you can switch the ports/devices on and off individually.
I do recommend to use the additional USB hub power supply. The camera adapter is not that great, when it comes to supplying more than one device with power. Specially with more power hungry devices like synths.
Just to add to this: One advantage of the four port Atollla hub is that the USB cable connects via a USB-B connector. This allows me to use a USB-B to lightning cable for the iPad / hub connection. This won’t charge the iPad, but I only need one powersupply, no camera adapter, and the whole setup can even be powered from a power bank,
Oooh. I didn't know there was such a thing as a USB B to lightning cable. I have a Pluggable 7 port and have always just used it with the Apple CCK.
Ordering one now. Thanks.
Me neither. Me too
Turns out my hub doesn't seem to output power from the USB uplink even though it's one of the 3.0 bigger connector ones. Oh well.
But I'm getting the cable (actually an adapter instead) anyway. Maybe a different hub later.
