Snowmageddon (New Vocals)
A slightly tongue-in-cheek song after hearing a news reporter warning us to expect "Snowmageddon", and talking about all the disruption, whilst standing in a few millimetres of snow. (Yes, I know some parts of the UK did get a significant amount of snow and disruption!)
This is the first song I have recorded in Logic Pro X on my new M2 Mac Mini - a great way to learn how to use it!
The main riffs are from Riffler (so glad it works on the Mac!) and drums are Logic Pro Drummers. I added real bass and lead guitars plus additional rhythm guitar and, unusually for me, vocals!

Nice work - Snowmageddon is real! Love the chorus !! btw, what is lurking in the garage?
You have no idea how Snow strikes fear into the heart of a native Californian. Temps below 32ºF? No... not doin' it.
I'm moving to a dessert island (spelling intended) with my 'Dessert Island' iPad fully loaded.
Nice tune... you should work on your metal voice to gain traction with people about 20-40 years younger than you. I understood every word. There are 10 year old girls that can nail the voice of the demon. Not sure you're hearts in it.
California, come for the sun they said…
Snow is gone but now it is torrents of rain and I’m freezing to death.
Nice sound @AlterEgo_UK, another great piece of music.
FUN! I agree with @McD. Some vocal processing would be good. Also, it sounds corny, I know, I’d love some wind whooshing blowing through.
Wait... if @Linearlineman agrees then I must be wrong. The Vocal is perfect... what the hell was I thinking.
I enjoyed the humor of the track and hope the comment on the vocal doesn't ruin your day.
Thanks @citizenK, and, to answer your question that garage is a garden shed containing almost a playground worth of toys for our grandchildren!
Thanks for your constructive comments @McD and @LinearLineman . I am first to admit that I am not really a singer, and certainly not a rock singer, but I agree the vocal does sound a bit “soft” and clean for a title like Snowmageddon!
If I get some more time on my own ( I don’t want to scare my wife with my singin, 😳) I will redo the vocals and maybe add a little wind noise.
Luckily, I am not one of the “snowflake” generation and your comments did not ruin my day 😉 in fact, I see them as a way to improve the song. So, thank you both. 😀
You must be the coolest grandpa. In at least two senses.
Thanks @Svetlovska
OK @McD and @LinearLineman - here is an updated version, which I think sounds much better. What do you think?
I like the vocal a lot better in this one. Don’t think my wind suggestion worked, though. Thanks for giving it all a go.
I too am happier with the vocals on this version. I quite like the wind sound too though but wasn't sure whether or not to keep it going all the way through, using automation to lower the volume when there was singing, or to just trigger the sound mainly in the non-vocal gaps, which I did here.
Thanks for re-listening, @LinearLineman !
Yeah, I thought the wind was good in the beginning but thought it took away from the clarity afterwards.
Great stuff, shades of Hawkwind at the beginning I thought…for somebody who claims not to be a singer I thought you were pretty darned good..🎤 Great guitar work. This was me on Friday so Snowmaggedon certainly struck here 😊
Thanks @GeoTony ! Hope the snow disappears for you soon!
well I actually prefer the first vocals...
OK, great. I have kept both versions on Youtube so people have a choice Thanks for listening
