If I had to pare it down to basics...

    Synths:
    Obsidian
    Korg Electribe Wave

    Acoustic:
    Module Pro
    Pure Synth Platinum
    Beathawk

    Drums:
    Splat-to-Clat

    Groovebox/Samplers:
    Koala

    Effects:
    Beef
    MagicDeathEyeStereo
    Pitch Drift
    Barricade
    Youlean Loudness Meter

    Sequencers/Utilities:
Nanostudio's sequencer is good enough for me.

    DAW:
    Nanostudio 2

It was hard to choose only five effects as my toolbox is vast and varied. On the other hand, it was tough to come up with five apps in the other categories as I'm good in those categories.

Then again, this does seem like an overabundance of apps for a desert island situation. So if I had to choose five apps in total regardless of category...

-Korg Gadget 2 (with all its internal IAPs, not including external compatible apps)
-Korg Module Pro (with all its IAPs)
-Korg iMono/Poly (with all its IAPs)
    -Youlean Loudness Meter
    -AUM

All of the production would be done within Korg Gadget itself. AUM can host the output of Gadget and feed it into Youlean's Loudness Meter. Then I can either use Gadget's limiter or DeeMax to set the level so its output is roughly -14LuFS.

Surprised not to see Gauss or PaulXStretch on your list! Good choices though.

I use Module a good amount but don’t use Gadget as much anymore. However every time I sit down with it I remember just how fun it is. It’s the app that got me all in on iPad producing instead of just tinkering.

Oof that’s rough. We had a bad storm a year or so ago and a tree fell and knocked out the main line to our house. The city couldn’t fix it until we had the landlord hire someone to fix the hookup attached to the house itself. All in all we were without power for 5 days at the tail end of spring, leading into summer. I know the pain and it sucks big time. Good luck with all that!

The high winds of last night took out a tree and a main road to our neighborhood is closed. It's created many areas of gridlock (all local lights are voluntary 4 way stops without power). It took some knowledge of the alternative options to get to Starbucks which would normally be 1/2 mile away but was now 4 miles of neighboring roads.

After getting home we opted for a lunch from In and Out which again would be 1 mile but was now about 5 miles to avoid the gridlocked options.

Not sure when the crew will get the road opened again but probably laster today since that main road is needed for the tourists to find their way to all the stuff the tourists come to see.

Oof that’s horrible. I hope it gets sorted soon. You must live up north? Or Midwest?

Pacific coast of California. Tourist town.

Ah gotcha. I saw in and out burger and knew it wasn’t near me haha. They have great food though!

    Boots.
    Tent
    First AId kit
    Water purifer
    Fishing rod.

You guys are not playing the game. What brand of boots, tent, etc. What foods and sparkling or pH Balanced?

You see this desert island has a 5 star hotel with Wi-Fi, Broadband and Starlink options to buy more stuff while on vacation and post selfies so your homies are jealous that your life rocks and theirs “no so much”.

I’d be more concerned how I’m going to upload the finished songs to a distributor and get the songs into the charts

    probably cover versions

    Rescue Me
    Emotional Rescue
    Living on an Island

Gadget is definitely great. Especially with the IAPs. There are still a couple there and within Module that I haven’t gotten around to yet though. Eventually lol

For non mpe stuff I vastly prefer the Xequence AU Keys app over kb1, because I find it much more beautiful. I also like the way you can add cc sliders on the left side.

Some here I forgot about on mine (Ruismaker Noir and Decent Sampler) and a couple I haven’t tried. The Magic apps are probably my next to buy. I’m curious though, is AU keys worth getting? Are you just using inside AUM?

AU Keys is GREAT! Check out the vid I made on it to see why. My only gripe is that @SevenSystems has still not implemented a way to reverse the velocity response on the y axis. 😉

Will do! I’ve actually been curious about that app for a while especially in comparison to the Kai Aras suite. Sometimes I just wanna use an iPad and headphones without hooking a midi controller up so I could see that coming in handy.

For non mpe stuff I vastly prefer the Xequence AU Keys app over kb1, because I find it much more beautiful. I also like the way you can add cc sliders on the left side.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll be adding this to my list!

  • Besides some of the mentioned above. I would say sanitation would be one of the things to worry on an island

Hookworm and feet is enough for me not to do that

  • On that subject... do not research "Myiasis"
There's a treatment called "Calcanhar de Maracujá" in portuguese. Which translates as "Passion fruit heel"
It was used by a doctor to avoid removing a limb in a child patient, by using worms to eat the necrosed tissue.
Nasty stuff, but it worked. And talk about thinking outside the box

    Sorry for my derailing

  • This island setup changes always for all us (on a minor or higher scale)
For me, now it would have:
Drambo, Loopy Pro, Beatmaker 3, Garageband, Beathawk, LK, Thumbjam, Tune Maker, Navichord, Riffler, Samplr, Skiiid, Elastic Drums, FAC Drumkit, Nanoloop, Figure, Groovebox, Blocs Wave, Virtual ANS, SunVox, iDS-10, Pure Acid, GR-16, Poison-202, Ripplemaker, Fluss, Gauss, Strng, Redshrike, Egoist, Unique, Patterning 2, Dot Melody, Forever Beats and AB+AUM
