Mother 32 and Model D and soft synths and blended whiskey
So this morning was the first time I played the Moog Mother 32 with the Behringer Model D. And then added a Moog soft synth, the Mini D on the MPC.
Some thoughts
- Plain as day the analog sounded better
- To be fair, maybe I should try this against the Softube analog I have.
- Every time I directly put analog against software, analog wins. But TBH, when I play the best soft synths alone in a session, I can't say I miss the analog drastically.
- The Mother and Boog sound great together
- Tempted to try to use some patch cables between the two. I'm not a modular guy at all, btw
- Has me wondering if I should cool my jets on buying an analog desktop polysynth until I explore these possibilities further.
- I could play some tricks with MIDI transposition to do 2 note poly synth chords
- Thinking of trying more soft synths stuff with analog at same time. Like blended whiskey, it might work with great results to add some premium analog spirit to other good digital sauce.
Anyway, just sharing thoughts. If anyone has other ideas on how to integrate Mother and Boog, please pass them along!
Thanks,
Joe
