How do you find those (last) 4 buttons for performance? To me that implementation feels quite weak/limited... but overall it’s a beast... thinking about selling A4 and OT and grab syntakt and digitakt - 1.5 looks great on paper - all the best bits of OT without the hassle
Absolutely useless :-D Honestly i would love if they rather make it possible to switch them to another 4 digital machines (in case CPU power allows it) because what they do now i completely do not use ))
I sold A4 to fund Syntakt and do not regret. Even through A4 is amazing synth, i realized i do not use it and peffer more streamlinet workflow on small "digi" devices. Syntakt is just amazing, true powerhorse.
In terms of OT, I do not have OT but i'm saving money for one I feel like it will be perfect perfomance mixer / effector to connect with my digi boxes, it's exactly what i am mising for live performance (something to quickly process/filter audio from digiboxes, something for smoother transitions between patterns by applying FXs, plus - very important - stereo samples that is probably most missing thing for me in Digitakt/Syntakt/Digitone boxes (even through Digitone has chorus which helps with this a bit) - i'm trying to add some stereo depth with fast LFO->PAN modulation (1 - 2khz) but this adds also a kind of ring modulation distortion, which is sometimes good and wanted, but sometimes not so much ..
Digi 1.5 is good but bear in mind there are some limitations for those new features, like 64 MB of total memory for samples loaded in project (so you can't expect to use too long loops in new machines, also those new machines are limited to 8 bar loops). So new Digi is definitely not replacement for Octatrack. But definitely it's fun and nice addition to it's posibilities. I love Slice machine - it allows you to create whole drumkit as one wav file then slice it and play "chromatically" at one channel.
I have to say that is impressive what you do with that little box!
And it reminded me I am sick of Goa/Psy trance, I used to go to clubbing nights and psy trance festivals, but I am done with that style for good. That is 100% about me (maybe not appropriate....) and not about your performance, so well done :-)
Great little set!
lol thanks
Honestly i was not at any festival for years :-)) I used to play live 10-15 years ago but then got disappointed by huge amount of drugs used by people at those parties so stopped completely with that.. but still love the music :-)

That is indeed a dilemma, the experience of electronic music with stimulants is (in most cases) better than sober. But on some parties things can get real grim.
I started with electronic music when DJ's still played all kind of styles mixed together on one evening, and later electronic music styles got more separated from each other. I went from Trance and Goa to techno, later strictly Detroit techno, then minimal techno and as a last station dub techno. And now I am mostly into jazz and blues.
In trance and Goa you can go totally wild with synthesisers, huge sweeps, wide sound spectrum, that kind of stuff, that is amazing. But for me in Goa the tempo of the beat is too high and the kick drum is a bit too compressed and light weight (if that is the right word). And trance music can sound cheesy quickly.
