Are people able to record in Samplr in this version from an audio interface or internal mic? I haven't succeeded with that in the new version
it does look like that is broken currently yes, although at least not difficult to workaround for now....
Not difficult to workaround in what way -- do you mean recording elsewhere and importing?
Yeah, record into Audioshare or AUM and import, not sure if IAA recording is working in Samplr, it's been a while since I used that, but maybe that works (I haven't tried yet).
Can’t test with an audio interface right now but I’m able to record in from the iPads mic if that’s what you’re asking. I’m on the beta so maybe it’s been fixed now.
Neither mic nor audio interface are working for me.
damn! audio in recording via interface is a crucial part of my live set up !! i better test pronto , this could be a disaster
I‘m still dreaming of an AU version…🫤
You’ll need Logic to use it as a plugin.
It’s really, really good in Logic. Like really good :-)
It may have some similarities but that's not Samplr in Logic, does look quite good though for what it does
It's got all the features of Samplr I'd want in a plug-in. The features it's missing are what make the standalone version as good as it is, but you don't need them all when you can have as many tracks of the plug-in as you like in Logic. Plus bits of it are better served by the other samplers in Logic, such as slicing.
Plus it combines the Samplr style UI with the sound engine features of Alchemy. What’s not to like?
It's obviously better on the iPad with a touchscreen, but if using it with automation on a Mac is great too — just in a different, less performance orientated way.
I think it’s effectively Samplr in a plugin. YmMv. Obviously. And as the developer of Samplr works for Apple (I wonder what he’s been doing? ) I doubt there will be an auv3 version.
Absolutely not the same thing.
Also Logic is not the Holy Grail for everyone.
Why AUV3?
The app loads up with others at a press of a button. Imagine a world where every app needs to be loaded separately. Nightmare
Saves a sample set and loads it up with other apps for immediate use. When you play live there’s no time for loading samples! People who do, look like they’re checking their email, which is not great from stagecraft point of view.
Of course it isn’t. It’s a plugin to be used in a host. Not a standalone app.
If youre using it standalone it doesn’t need to be plugin. If you’re using it as a plugin it doesn’t need all the features of the standalone version. The whole point of the original was to use it stand alone. I assume so as it’s clearly made to be used on its Tod.
However Sample Alchemy is all the things I like about Samplr in a plug-in. I use it way more than I ever used Samplr standalone. I’m DAW first so it fits my brain better like this. I can’t speak for the things other people like about Samplr.
If I was the developer of Samplr and was going to make an auv3 version, it would be similar to what’s in Logic.
YMMV. I guess I’m lucky that it fits what I want. and I got it for free with Logic 10.8 for the Mac. Nice.
If anything Samplr would be better being able to host auv3s rather than being hosted itself.
Anyway as far as I’m concerned it’s as good as being Samplr in a plug-in. Your mileage obviously does vary.
I agree, things I always missed in Samplr (good filters, envs, mod matrix) are a great addition to the concept.
Are you on iOS 17 by any chance? I’m still on the last version of 16 currently.
For real. It’s not quite the same which is to be expected but it’s still very good and has some advantages all its own.
Ios 16.6.1
Can you check if it works for you in the current app store version?
Never mind. i deleted and reinstalled and now it is working.
Ah okay right now. Glad you got it sorted. Crazy that doing that still fixes things. Like blowing out the cartridge and slapping the top of an N64.
Others aren't having the problem i did. A reinstall solved the problem for me.
