Is ArpBud 2 also polyphonic?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use AB2 also with chords as well as single notes? For example I would like to touch a chord on my keyboard and have AB2 play it repeatedly until I take my hand off the keyboard, the same as in the song "The riddle" by Nik Kershaw in the 80s. With single notes I can do it easily but with chords... I don't know.

  • It’s not polyphonic but you can do that by routing ArpBud through ScaleBud or In Theory.

  • You can send midi chords into Arp Bud 2, I do it all the time, but it will only play one note at a time, based off the note pattern you create inside AB2. It will arppregiate the notes in the chord you are playing or sequencing, but again only plays one note out at a time.

Thanks Poppadorock, that's what I suspected, but I'd like to find a solution.

Thanks cem_olcay, but I think a polyphonic arpeggiator is a simpler solution for me, can you recommend a not too expensive one?

    Step Poly Arp

  • Expensive but excellent

  • Hey @cem_olcay, as long as you're watching this thread I've meant to mention that I can't get ArpBud to respond correctly to CCs that I'm sending it from PolyBud to change the rates. What happens is that I can see the rate dial turn correctly like it's following the CC but that actual rate stays the same and never changes.
I tried out the same PolyBud on some of your other apps and they worked normally. It seems it's just ArpBud.

Thanks for letting me know! I fixed that issue and upload a new version. It will be live soon!

Knobs by default in rotary mode is a evil joke?) being able to switch patterns after they've finished would be a big improvement
I forgot to say that this is a beautiful arpeggiator :)

  • More thoughts about poly arps - Ioniarics has 2 voices, each with adjustable probability, and allows for polythyms. TATAT allows up to 4 voices. It can be used to arp or you can dial in the notes you want. Euclidean can work as a 4-voice arpegiator if you enable 'chord recognition mode. All super interesting apps.
