Zenbeats vs MC707? Looking for input from someone that has both…
I have an MC707 (upgraded from MC101). I really like it for the most part, and I appreciate Roland has updated it often, etc.
However, there’s a few things about it that drive me nuts… For example the way the arpeggios are implemented as a live recording feature vs something like Zenbeats midi effect.
Also, the fact there’s no “chord library” concept so you need to basically rebuild a chord set for chord mode in every project.
So I’ll often find myself with my iPad wired up to my 707 to perform various midi “stuff” and to use it to record into AUM.
Sooo I basically find myself defeating the purpose of the mc707 as a “stand alone” device as it’s umbilical led to the iPad anyway, and that’s not much different from using something like an APC40 with the iPad running Zenbeats… Right?
I mainly want a live performance tool/setup, and it seeeeeeems like Zenbeats could be that with adequate midi mapping, etc…
Can someone with similar experience let me know if I’m off base here?
