Updates for JAX Superior, Emporeor, Imperior pending

We are preparing the transport of the latest update (1.92) for our released Concert Grands Collection to the Apple AppStore. The items are suspended for purchase currently, which does not affect existing customers. The prices for the series will be re-adjusted too, for better reflecting the the high quality and x-platform compatibility compared to any available competitor products.

2 collections (JAX Xcelsior, JAX Xperior) will be V.I.P. now exclusively. Only customers of the 3 released main collections will be able to access these exclusive releases via promo codes.

WU Series FREE

We also currently are reconfiguring our complete product line. The WU (Wrapped Unit) series are now free. This serie is iOS only. There are still at least 4 unreleased items in the WU series, which will be added soon (WU AUMIDISynthesizer, AUSampler, AUPitch, AUAudioPlayer ).

Lecacy Releases

Most of our legacy main products will be updated and become x-platform (super universal) next. So finally our complete product line will be available on all latest major Apple platforms. Prices will be re-adjusted for these releases too.

I recommend everyone pick up all 13 free WU FX apps. They are wrappers around the FX code that Apple makes available to developers.

    V.I.P? How does that work?

Is that an App Store thing?

It’s definately a new innovation in customer recognition! I have never been a VIP until this. I’m looking forward to updates on the 3 existing releases too. The 3rd release is my favorite.

It may work just by posting one or more promo codes and only approving the sale if the first three apps have been purchased. Not been done before but a possible implementation detail. Those that didn’t buy will not be able to use the promo code.

I wonder who "approves" the sale? The dev or Apple?

A promo code probably isn’t even considered a sale. They exist so the developer can make the app available as gifts or to
Allow reviews access without being required to purchase. Most reviewers don’t purchase apps but are granted promo codes.

So, the 2 "VIP" collections (JAX Xcelsior, JAX Xperior) won't be for sale? You'll have to be sent a code personally from the developer?

Under iOS/iPadOS16 they are already AUv3's with brand new UIs.
The host-developers just have to 'enable/list' them...
(They are already present in ApeMatrix, Drambo and GarageBand and I'm quite sure more will follow).

I wanna say they show up in another Apesoft app. iDensity maybe? Also if you have the AUSH app, they seem to appear all together in AUM/Audiobus.

It is a long story to explain this business model but anyone that purchased the first three is being given a reward as a gesture. Something we may never see repeated. We paid $39 so it’s like those sings at the store: Buy 3 and get 2 free
Only this time there was no sign. To make it really tricky you had to pay for number 3 and wait for it to arrive days later. When it did arrive no one else could buy it but the pay for 3 and get 5 crowd could download it as agreed.

I just feel so special. Like winning a lottery.

So only a tiny number of people will ever get the VIP pianos?

And how does the developer know the identities of the "pay for 3 and get 5 crowd"?

  • Not sure if this whole "VIP" business doesn't violate the terms of service for promo codes, which come as a PDF several megabytes (!) in size 😂 so probably absolutely everything is verboten.

I would say so. Then again, there may be a loophole, since what's explicitly verboten is the selling / reselling of the codes themselves.

But an extremely bold & risky move nevertheless.

I think this is a transitional strategy to opening the apps to all potential buyers. Just wait a few weeks.

  • Not seeing any JAX at the App Store. Too much drama by half.
