    I find the updated description is still not accurate and might be considered misleading. IRs don't replicate the sound/experience of playing through an amp. So, they aren't a general replacement for amp sims for most applications.

    Amp sims aren't tricking people with IRs. In good amp sims, the IR is a small though important part of what they offer. IRs typically are used for the cabinet sound but not the amp sound itself which uses other techniques to create responsive distortion.

    The notion that IRs are the central part of what amps sims do is mistaken.

    I'll show you the whole idea in my video, don't want to spoil anyone here.
